An Extremely Safety Curtain Emergency

People avidly following this diary for news of the Division's forthcoming Cambridge shows will be pleased to know that I popped along to the ADC theatre in my lunch break and we had exciting discussions about using emergency torches. James Aylett was there with our techie Pete, Andrew Pontzen also made an appearance which was exciting, he was wearing glasses which was doubly exciting, and the air was thick with the charged atmosphere you get in a theatre about ten hours before a unique one-off performance.

Most excitingly of all, the ADC's safety curtain (the one bit of the building that is listed, I am led to believe) is, as Mr Pontzen succinctly put it, "buggered". It refuses to sink to floor level, remaining instead halfway up with the words "safety curtain" clearly visible.

Something tells me that if there is one show to which this state of affairs would be entirely suited, it is An Extremely Memorable Emergency. It's just a bit unfortunate for whatever show is on before us.
