The Uncertainty Division

Improvised theatre

Andrew Pontzen

Andrew’s impro experience started when he was Compere for the Cambridge Amateur Dramatic Club’s one off Whose Line is it Anyway? in October 2002, and was quickly followed by his position as musical director for The Uncertainty Division’s Impromime, and later by a cast position in the group’s first touring show, Out Of Your Mind. He returned to the keyboard and musical director for An Extremely Memorable Emergency. Outside improvisation, recent theatre credits include Acting ASM for Chipping Norton Theatre’s Jack and the Beanstalk, Composer for Eight Days for Srebrenica and sound designer for numerous shows including the recent Cambridge Arts Theatre production of West Side Story. As well as writing music, most recently for a short film, he also plays, engineers and produces for bands including the London-based funk singer Atar. His most proud achievement is to have performed his own song on BBC television alongside such stars as Alan Titchmarsh and PJ & Duncan in A Song For Christmas (1994).
