game, set, match

We learnt several exciting new GAMES today from Alex Lamb of the Amazing Spectacles (another improvised theatre group - details of the games below).

We have also been experimenting with our lovely new SET which is made up of - quite clever this - moveable walls.

Finally, Phil is ordering us some stylish collarless shirts from Tehran in MATCHING pastel shades to wear on stage. We hope this will make us look sophisticated, and not like The King's Singers gone wrong.

More on games for those who like that sort of thing...

The best of the games that Alex taught us was a variant on that old theatrical favourite "Zip, zap, boing", where players pass an imaginary ball around a circle, crying out 'zip', 'zap' or 'boing' depending on the direction of the pass. However, instead of using one of the the eponymous commands, in this version each player adds a word to an emerging story - as in the classic improvisation game 'Word at a time'.

MATCHING pastel shirts?!

When I say pastel, I mean light blue, white and grey. But, I kid you not, these billow bags come fresh to us from the bazaar in Tehran (thanks to Phil's dad for acquiring, and, even nicer, donating them to us). -ax
