Russell T Davies talks to his writers #12

Russell T: So...you want to write for Doctor Who. Any...er...ideas?

Tom MacRae: I could do one about Cybermen.

Russell T: Great...er, yes, that's...a start. But any actual...well, ideas?

Tom MacRae: (thinks) I thought I could make it the same as that audio adventure by Marc Platt.

Russell T: That's certainly an idea, but it's not really your idea, is it? And, I mean, Marc Platt is an experienced writer who knows the show's format and came up with the idea in the first place, whereas you're twenty-six and haven't done anything like this before, so I don't quite see why I'd want you to write this episode.

Tom MacRae: Oh. (pause) Do you want to shag?

Russell T: Yes. (pause) Why don't we make your Cyberman story a two-parter?
