Gormenghast

Just got back from watching the David Glass Ensemble production of Gormenghast. And: wow. It's not all great - some of the performers are great at movement but not so hot on acting, for instance - but it has moments of amazing beauty that just blow you away.

The two things that will stay with me were some great ensemble wandering around the castle with flats moved and manipulated by the cast, and the use of a huge amount of white parachute silk as the roiling flood waters. If anyone knows where I can get some cheaply ... and people who are working with me in the next couple of months are hereby warned that we're likely to do much the same. Over and over again.
