A big hello from Phil Stott

Well, it's nice to be back.

I thought I might as well introduce myself. My name is Phil Stott and I date from the distant past of the Uncertainty Division. A time before we had such things as 'blogs' and 'websites' and 'producers'. A more simple era, yes, but not necessarily a less stressful one.

I felt I should respond to the frankly scandalous allusions about my masculinity made by James Lark in the last entry. Believing attack to be the best form of defence, I did what anybody else would have done in my position and looked for pictures of James looking foolish on the internet. An extremely long hour later, I am now the world's leading expert on the electronic oeuvre of James Lark, including his thoughts on recent Dr Who audio adventures. However, I have not been able to find any photos of him. So, you'll have to be satisfied with one I already have of him in my kitchen.

Gosh, I hope I've done that right.

If I have, then eagle-eyed readers will be able to spot my microwave, the remains of my breakfast and the large Teletubby style antenna that grows out of James' head. The mug is not my property.

We'll chat more once I've finished my exams, I expect. I've always been jealous of the other UD members and their diary. Now's my chance to right that wrong.

Let the games begin!

Phil

I must say, I remember the photograph being better than that.

Not that I ever saw it; I am merely recollecting Phil Stott's own description of my appearance that morning: "his haircut seems vaguely teutonic, like a fine strapping young goatherd tramping across the hills of Saxony to see his beloved in the next village. Either that or a particularly fresh-faced and friendly looking member of the SS..."

Like romanticised descriptions of Beethoven's death mask, then, Mr Stott's perceptions seem to have been somewhat rose-tinted by his evident love of Austrian imagery.
