an open letter to the fourth estate

We've had a few dealings with gentlemen (and ladies) of the press of late. Most of them lovely.

For instance The Scotsman said of us:

"[T]he young cast fling themselves into the proceedings with an infectious enthusiasm and are clever enough to spin their stories into a satisfying narrative that is both utterly ridiculous and rather sweet."

Aww - how nice!

Also, Three Weeks said:

"a fine tale...the performances were uniformly engaging. Fine tea-time fun.'

Lovely!

But both reviewers - and perhaps you too, dear reader - are unconvinced that the whole thing is completely made-up.

Well, in response, I say not only that it is, but as proof we are prepared to let anyone in on how we do it. Indeed, only this morning we ran a work-shop (thanks to all who attended!) for the Fringe Office doing just that.

So, oh members of the fourth estate, if anyone is a doubter and wants a quick class in improvisation, just e-mail.

Ah, but bless them for describing us as "the young cast"!

Young! Most flattering, in a city full of sixteen year olds performing Pinter plays.

The Scotsman also features a picture of Alan Rickman.
